Everything DJ Khaled wants, he gets. The We The Best boss was upset at McDonald’s after going to five different restaurants to get a Happy Meal for his son.
On Saturday, April 30, DJ Khaled posted a series of videos on his Instagram page detailing his father-son day with Asahd. In a clip, the Miami producer announces to his 26 million followers that it’s Happy Meal on Saturday and that he’s going to McDonald’s to pick up a Happy Meal for his son.
In the following clip, Khaled is outside the window of a McDonald’s drive-thru where workers are overjoyed to see the ‘Wild Thoughts’ hitmaker. However, Khaled is upset that he had to go to five different restaurants just to get a Happy Meal for his son. “We went to all the McDonald’s; they don’t have Happy Meals anywhere,” he said. “I don’t know why McDonald’s doesn’t have Happy Meals.”
“Mcdonalds, please, we need more happy meals; kids want happy meals,” Khaled wrote in the caption. “Bless and love @mcdonalds, just want you all to know [there’s] no happy meal anywhere but the great people at this @mcdonalds got one for my son @asahdkhaled thanks.
In the final clip, DJ Khaled delights the cashiers of Mickey D’s with his famous ad-lib: “Another one”.
Apparently, McDonald’s quietly removed Happy Meals from its dollar menu in 2018. According to Brand Eating, the fast-food chain discontinued the item, but it was still available in select U.S. restaurants for $3-$4. The current Happy Meal has no plastic toys as the burger franchise is phasing out plastic with the goal of a more sustainable Happy Meal by 2025.
Hopefully McDonald’s will call DJ Khaled so he can help them promote their fun and eco-friendly Happy Meals for kids to enjoy.
