Think you’ve eaten eggs all over the place? How about fried eggs with baked peppers, cream, corn, black beans, guajillo, queso fresco and marinated vegetables in a soft taco? Or with grilled queso fresco, marrow bone, chicharron compote, chorizo, frijoles, avocado, salsa and tortillas? Hotel Jesus has launched a weekend breakfast menu to shake up your morning routine. Instead of those bacon and egg rolls, add a plate of toasted tortilla chips, salsa verde, salsa roja, cotija cheese, cream, micro cilantro and a fried egg.
Stepping away from eggs, if you like living in the dangerous zone between sweet and savory, there’s a watermelon, melon, and honeydew melon ceviche with cherry tomatoes, coconut, avocado and tomatillo. And if yours is a plant-based diet, order a bowl of Aztec cereal, consisting of kale, bulgur, black beans, quinoa, pumpkin, nuggets, corn, amaranth, and citrus salsa. There are even five special items for your little humans, like a Mexican ham and cheese toast, and what’s a Mexican feat without a cold glass of sweet and spicy horchata?
Hotel Jesus is now open for breakfast and lunch on weekends. Sat 8 am-4:30pm; Sun 9 am-4:30pm
