Instagrammer My Family Eats shares $106 Aldi restaurant

A woman has revealed she only spent $106 on a week’s worth of dinners after shopping at Aldi.

The mum-of-two, who is behind Instagram handle My Family Eats, was attempting a challenge to make seven nights worth of dinners to feed a family of four for $100.

She shared her dinner plan for the week on the social platform, with the cost per dinner averaging just over $15.

She started with bowls of Mexican chicken tacos, then used the leftover chicken breast she bought for Greek chicken bowls the second night.

The tomato and red onion were also kept separate during the two meals, with the mother pulling out taco seasoning from a meal kit to season the chicken for the first meal.

“For next night, I’m going to make a soft fish taco,” she said, using the rest of the meal kit.

“For the fish, there are eight pieces of fish in this package. You won’t use all of this, so it can be used for two nights.

Other dishes on the menu included baked gnocchi (currently a big trend on TikTok), as well as pumpkin tortellini with creamy spinach sauce, meatball subs with salad, and char sui pork with lemongrass rice and broccolini.

“What I like the most is that you cook healthy and well balanced meals! I will copy this for shopping this week! Love your work,” one person commented.

Another said: “Following you from New Zealand and quite amazed at the lower food prices there compared to here.”

Another woman said: “Love, love, love these $100 challenges. Thank you.

“I saved a huge amount of money for my family. Could you do something like this for the lunch/lunch box challenge? »

Another said, “Oh, I can’t wait to see these meals! I miss our current menus so much; you have to shake it!”
