Zowie Bowie, WildLights Highlights Things To Do In The Desert

DESERT ART FESTIVAL: NOV. 26-28

The desert art festival will return to The River at Rancho Mirage for Thanksgiving weekend, featuring artists from across the western United States displaying their original work in all mediums of fine arts and crafts. The works of art on display will include collages, ceramics, mixed media, paintings, photographs, clay, glass, metal and bronze sculptures, jewelry, artistic fibers, etc. All works on display will be available for purchase. Event hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Entrance and parking are free.

“Happy movie nights” ON EL PASEO: November 27

To verify “Happy movie nights” at The Gardens on El Paseo with the screening of The grinch November 27. The once-a-week outdoor cinema experience takes place on the Central Lawn across from Saks Fifth Avenue. Bring your own blankets and dress warmly. Movies will start at dusk (5:00 p.m.) and look for a good chance of snow after that. The remaining films include Frozen December 4; Elf December 11 and Santa December 18.

BENEFIT CONCERT FOR HARRISON HOUSE WITH ERIC BYERS: NOV. 27

Eric Byers is a renowned soloist and founding member of the Calder Quartet. Together they have appeared at Carnegie Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, Wigmore Hall, and Disney Hall. Byers has conducted masterclasses at The Juilliard School, Cincinnati Conservator of Music, Cleveland Institute of Music, UCLA, and USC.

DANCE WITH MISS LINDSAY PRESENTS NUTCRACKER AND HOLIDAY FAVORITES: NOV. 28

A tradition of family vacations in the desert- “DWML presents: Nutcracker & Holiday Favorites’ features dancers ages 3 through adulthood. Sit back and enjoy a day of music and performances including ballet, tap dance, jazz, hip-hop and lyrics.
